Renault Scenic Electrical Gremlins...
Hi All,
Anyone on here know anything about Renault tin tops?
My wife's 2005 Scenic developed a couple of electrical issues recently.
About a week ago the heater blower stopped working on all but one of it's settings. It only works on number 3 out of 4.
Then today the dash started dropping out and resetting the clock and trip meter...
I'm fairly sure the blower problem is going to be a dodgy resistor pack, but is the dash likely to be related or a completely seperate
problem?
Thanks,

The dash is a common problem on scenic's of this age.
Try googling it.

Thanks guys.
I'd heard about the dash problem (remember seeing it on watchdog a while ago), and thought that was when the dash died completely.
A bit more reading/googling and it would appear that the flashing/resetting is an early warning sign that it's about to go
On the blower side, I managed to reach the resistor pack last night and pulled the connector out - the end of it has melted slightly I put it back
and wriggled it about a bit and suddenly got full function back
I'm sure that's only a temporary fix, but it's something at least!
I guess these two problems have got nothing to do with each other then and it's just coincidence that they happened both about the same time...
