BGH Geartech - a thank you

I have a HD Type9 Alloy cased gearbox from BGH in my car. It was last rebuilt 18 months ago by them to its current spec. Since then I've notice the odd drip of oil but nothing much until the box started whining at the end of last year, at each point I filled it up again(!). This noise came to a head at Brands in Dec which culminated in a large pool of oil under the car.

So as the engine was coming out during the build anyway I got the box sent off to BGH to rebuilt again. Turns out one of the bolts at the front of the box had disappeared and this was where the oil had been coming from. On inspection the gears themselves where fine but the bearings where shot. New bearings/seals etc plus alignment and checking and the box is back in the car at FSCs.

So I rang Chris at BGH to settle up the bill to be told.....no charge as it was their fault that the bolt came out.

I've always said that the sign of a good company is not how they deal with you when things go well it is how they cope when things go wrong. So a big thank you to BGH for standing by their workmanship and product 18months on. Well Done.

That's service!

Thats just not right! Jeff, you know full well thats not the correct way to go about it. You're supposed to come on here and slag them off BEFORE giving them the oppertunity to fix it!

It should be 330-340 when it is mapped and the box is not straight cut. HD BGH Type 9s are rated to 250ft lbs which is pretty much what the car will produce so it 'should' be OK.
