OT - Tin-top steering problem (again!) - update

right folloing my last thread (linky) I've tripple check it now and I'm more than 100% sure its not the column
(that would have been easy to sort)
I actuall disconnected the column but the 'sticky spot' is still there

the only thing that seems to affect it is taking the weight off the wheels, also its worse turning left than right - so I disconnected the track rod ends but I can't fell anything wrong with the struts either...

so I'm suspecting the rack

any more thoughts ?

are you thinking that its clamped too tight ?

this rack is mounted to the sub frame with just 2 bolts through lugs cast onto the side....
