Yeah - looks nice on the outside but the interior looks terrible as does the wheezey 1200cc engine.....
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.

I agree... why base it on a knackered old Herald? I think I remember reading, maybe on the guys website, that he got the moulds and adapted them from
Ford parts to the Herald base. A version to fit a Locost chassis wouldn't be a bad move!

It is different, and i do like, but a 1200 engine? and based on a herald ?
Is this kit atually 50 years old or a new build, as the last time i saw a 1200 herald was on heartbeat!

i think you're right though, the 7 type chassis is surely the most common, so seems the best plan i think

Personnaly I prefer my friend Jan's Pagano kit. The red car plus the wire wheels on the green one would be my preference

The main reason is no IVA required and free road tax quite legally.
No reason you couldn't engineer a spaceframe chassis for it, but you'd be adding best part of a grand to the build costs.

It uses a Herald as a base because Triumph were the only manufacturer in the 60's that was still building cars with a separate chassis. Triumph
couldn't afford to develop monocoque construction because they didn't have their own body pressing shop. all their panel work was subbed
out to Pressed Steel Fisher.
Separate chassis equals simple kit ... unbolt one body, bolt another one on. This was therefore a very budget shortcut to a kit car, and the price
should reflect that.
