Discovery 2 air suspension compressor

Hallo all,

Rear suspension compressor on my td5 has burnt out...trying to remove it but i am buggered if i can disconnect the 2 hoses from the compressor ( 1 intake hose, 1 exhaust hose....) - they look like they push in but so far my attempts at releasing the intake hose has just resulted in me breaking off the plastic collar of what looks like a locking ring....

Anybody changed one of these? Any tips?

Cheers, Rich.

you were probably doing it right, just give it a spray up with some wd or like, push the collar in which releases the grips inside the fitting and just pull the hose out is it definately the pump at fault?

Have managed to get the intake hose out....pulled harder and it gave....although the locking coller is knackered now...

Tried to pull harder on the exhaust hose...still won't budge.....bugger..

When I got the intake hose off I gave it a dose of WD40 into the pump...it did kick briefly into life but then burnt out the fuse..short linked the fuse and the gave the pump a thump, the pump runs, but will still not inflate the suspension....so it is kaput!!!

So I have to get another pump...cheapest is over £100 on fleabay...will have to bite the bullet....my fault for leaving the airbags in a shabby state for so long....plus it has been unused for 8 months...it was noisy beforehand.....

Anyone got a cheap secondhand pump for sale..?

Bloody Land Rovers....

It's a common land rover forum discussion, but so far as i am aware it can invalidate the insurance because it has 2 seats in the boot, needs the self levelling for those...

But it would make the thing a lot simpler though, that's for sure....

It would only invalidate your insurance if you didnt declare it...

Well, I now have a new compressor on the car....it runs, but it would now appear that the SLABS ECU needs recalibrating..car is sat right down on it's suspension at the back - I know that I need to replace at least one of the ride level sensors....which i will do...but would anyone localish happen to have a nanocom diagnostic tool or something that i could hire/borrow to let me reset the thing back to where it should be? At the moment i cannot drive it - it's on it's bumpstops - and it's going to cost me a fortune to get the bloody thing recovered to a land rover dealer...

Land rover - love/hate relationship.....
