I thinks its kinda cool a bit of British nostalgia.
By the way who is the woman on you're avatar ?
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Loads of room, practical layout easy to work on and amazing BL build quality (ahem). You know you want it. Only five minutes left. Get bidding.

My folks had one exactly the same spec/colour. It was on an old 'X' plate though. I remember it well!

I can say without hesitation that the Maxi was the worst car I ever owned - cr@ppy build quality, rubbish cable gearchange, cornered like a legless
terrapin, gutless - I've never owned such a rubbish car, before or since...

My parents used to have a dark green Austin 1800 - similar to the Maxi, but with differences, such as the finned rear lights like a taxi. God that was
over 35 years ago and I can still remember the reg (XWU 233G). Quite a comfy ride, but the dizzy being at the front of the engine wasn't good in
wet weather - ISTR that a rubber glove made a good weather seal!

Funny I had one way back,1500 Dark blue and it was fantastic, had it about three years absolutely no problems, just an annual service and add petrol.
Had an extra 50K miles on it when sold, great car for meeting the girl friend, (but never told the wife that) Cheers Ray
To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy

I am sure your wife will be pleased to hear that she looks just like Brooke Harman. Is the picture of "GEMMA", in your archive, the
mistress?
We should be so lucky to have just one stunning looking woman in our lives let alone 2+.

The original 1800 Landcrab was ten times the car the the Maxi was.
