FM transmitter things
Can anyone recommend me a decent one of these things, I've used various ones (belkin etc… ) and not been that impressed so far
Ideally it'd be one that you can change the frequency on and with a USB post for charging - and its not for an ipod/iphone so needs to have just
a 3.5mm jack
(or is there an afordable way of adding a 3.5mm input to a pug 206 / fitting an aftermarket head unit and keeping the steering wheel controls ? )

Can you head unit take a cd changer?
If so you can get a converter to plug in the back from halfrauds or internet.
that's your 3.5mm input.
charging can be done via a £1.5 cig lighter from the bay.
If you don't have a disc changer you can get a direct plug inline arial fm modulator. they have good quality sound and require separate switched
supply. They offer a low level in but you may find a high level in one.
high level means amplified or 3.5mm
low level means non amp or red and white co ax.
Hope this helps.

I added an aux input on my polo for about 48p.... It has a CD changer, so I added a switched jack plug to the dash. When you plug in a jack it
disconnects the L+R audio feed from the CD changer and takes the feed from the jack instead... only catch is you have to have CDs spinning in the
changer for it to allow the audio to work..... but no biggie.. works perfectly :-)

Unless you have one of these and it works better than the OPs already tested equipment I would not even waste the £5 in trying that.
Thats the sort of stuff that is perfect at doing nothing very well, especially giving an iterference free FM signal when it has a noisey 12V attached
to its ass!

Speaking from real experience actaully that particular bit of "thats" stuff works very nicely even with rough and ready 13.4v up
its' arse.
