Alfa 33 1.7 - look at the inboard brakes.

Inboard brakes #shudder#

Had a Cloverleaf Sprint that needed a new handbrake cable once, still got the scars twenty years later.

It's definatelty a 'Sud flat four. Being a single carb it will be at most a 1.5, but could be as small as 1.2.

Yes Alfa Sud / 33

Both my Suds, 1186 4 door and 1.5ti had inboard front discs.
I think some of the 33's did away with in board's

Anyway, I dont think a GT40 type kit would do well even if it had the 1750 twin cam alfa engine.

Even though the Sud's have a great sound which I dealy miss, It will never do for a V8 replacement.

33s had outboard discs as did the later sprints.

A supercharged 1.7 16v will put out about 200bhp, and is one of the nicest sounding and smoothest 4 pots around.

Probably getting hard to find the parts now though.

I had a Sud 1.5 cloverleaf with twin IDAs and an Ansa exhaust and it was a great driving car but it rotted faster than cucumber on a compost heap. I still loved it though.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
