More excuses for F1 sell out from Mark Thompson of BBC
From Autosport website
"In front of MPs at the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, Thompson said that the share deal is better for fans than if F1 coverage had
gone to another British broadcaster."

the Australian Grand Prix - will be live on Sky in the very early hours of the morning. There will be a 75-minute highlights package in peak time on
the BBC, which we would expect to reach many more people than the live coverage."
That's absolute rubbish. They would have shown the throughout TWICE anyway!

The Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee wouldn't question Thompson closely on an issue like this without good reason, The question
forming in my mind is given the tainted reputation of anything the Murdoch empire touches why favour Sky and not even consider an approach to Channel
4 ?

Channel 4 are also state funded to an extent and it would cost the public purse too much money. The same reason the the BBC had to let it go. I
would guess the vast majority of the Tax payers in this country would rather not give Bernie wagon loads of dosh for live coverage of all the races
when they can have delayed highlights of some and live broadcast of others for a fraction of the price.
BT you seem to think F1 live is some sort of sacred right....it isn't and it cost to tax payer too much. If you want to watch it all live then
get a Sky subscription. You can either watch the highlights for the cost of your TV Tax or man up and pay the piper on Sky.
