engine rebuild

hi

for a while now i have wanted to rebuild an engine (for some reason) i like to know how things work, so i was just wondering if there was any engine which is more simple to rebuild. i would like something i could fit in a kit car so mx5, redtop, k series. i am a maintenace engineer so it might help.

are there any others.

and other people thoughts on rebuild would be good.

cheers steve

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I had the head re-worked skimmed - valves cut & ground & assembled.
I had the block bored out & they offered to assemble the pistons/crank big ends/crankshaft&bearings.
(also ground the crank & lightened the flywheel)

That broke the back of the job
It was'nt expensive and made me feel better knowing it was all done right... !!
