That's called stopping, not parking
Saw this fine example of stopping on Friday, it was there all day.
Maybe I'm getting more intolerant as I age, but poor parking is really beginning to rile me. It's either a lack of competence or
consideration or both.
And breathe....

I'd want to measure the car behind as well, which looks too close to the junction.
Times like that you need a really ratty 4x4 with substantial bull bars to highlight the problem to the other driver

true! there's an MX5 'parks in a narrow bit of gourock, where they have parking spaces, then the kerb curves out to road side, then back
in for the turning into a road, this MX5 regularly parks with the portion from the back driver side corner, to the back of the passenger door in the
road. i want to smack into it just to proove a point lol

People who park on tight unsighted corners are the worst aholes, IMO.
It is just complete and utter laziness. You just get going past them when someone comes from the opposite direction.

theyre not speeding though, so theyre not doing anything wrong...
some of the parking round our way is apalling, cars left about half a meter off the kerb or on the kerb... also, why do people think its acceptable
nowadays to drive into a space, bump up on the pavement then back down to get into a space?
its called parallel parking and its not hard!!!

It is extremely unlikely that plod will do anything and that means that the driver can get away with it, they know they can get away with it and they
do. I get angry at that kind of attitude same as parking outside schools on the yellow chevrons, zig zags next to pedestrian crossings and on double
yellows just to go to an ATM.

We used to have the same problem opposite the gate to my sisters house, that's at the end of a narrow road, right on a junction.
We had somebody who worked in the offices round the corner, always parking there, because they thought the work car park was too tight.
Because there were no road markings, the police wouldn't do anything.
So, after asking the woman for over a week, if she could park her car either further up the road, or in her work car park, as it was obstructing our
access in and out of the house (it would take 4-6 shunts to get in or out with her 4x4).
I had to back my Scammell tank transporter, down my sisters drive, to winch out a tree stump, which took around 20 shunts to get into the drive, after
we'd asked her to move while we got the lorry in and out. But, unfortunately, when I was leaving, my foot slipped off the clutch, and the front
bumper of my Scammell removed the roof of her car...
Did you know, you don't get a no claims bonus on commercial vehicles...

Do you still have the Scammel? Looks like there's another car on the OP's pic that needs you to make it into a convertible

Have the people complaining about the police ever tried calling them? The ones driving around probably aren't too bothered about stopping to
give out parking tickets (plus the associated paperwork) but if you phone the non-emergency number and say someone is obstructing the road they might
send someone round when they're not busy.
It is annoying, though. Especially when there are a few spaces further back.
Someone at work was recounting a story from the marina he lives in where they have "No parking" signs for a very good reason. Someone
parked there and soon found out the space is needed for the 12 ton forklift to move boats around. They picked the car up with the forklift and moved
it somewhere more convenient.

saw a police car the other day sat/parked/dumped about midway across one lane of a single carrigeway road on a bend, no plod to be seen, either they
were very lazy or it had broken down.
either way it was causing an obstruction, but they did leave the roof flashers on!

corners and on the grass verges

It's been a very long time since I read the highway code, but iirc you aren't allowed (therefore illegal) to park within 15 yards of a
junction with a main road (which I'm guessing that is, given the giveway lines/road condition etc.
Perhaps someone with a copy could have a read then we'll know for sure.
