I've got a really old tent that survied 5 years of music fetivals thanks to that stuff
and I'm sure I read an article in a kitcar mag. claiming they made an new CV boot to get them home using only the tape and a couple of cable
ties....

I beleive the Americans call it Duct tape, but our equivelent would be speed tape, as used in the Aviation buisness, for "minor repairs"
to aircraft
I had some, must of been 30 ish years ago, and it held my speedo and rev counter, together after i pranged a Syuzuki
This stuff once applied will NEVER come off with out power tools
The stuff we buy in B&q and the likes, is basicly a mildy stronger carpet tape, and f ing useless

We used to call it 600mph tape and used it as you said to repair minor damage to aircraft.
