Fury hood frame & hood
fade2blue - 15/6/16 at 06:26 PM

Hi, I have recently purchased a fury Le Mans. I have been searching for a few years, and this one seemed ideal. The only thing is, it hasn't got any weather protection, I had thought that I would be able to get this from the factory. Having read the build guide, and the advise on soft and hardtop. Has anyone got any recommendations for the frame and hood manufacturers - trimmers.
Thanks,
Dan

Being a Fury owner, I have had the pleasure of getting wet once

I never really looked into a hood, but I would like to get a cover of some sort
so that if it is outside over night - or on a trip to the village, it will keep the general public
and anything else out.

A tonneau of one sort or another, but as far as I have heard, it would be a custom job.

By the way, we need pictures of you car from all angles.

Is it a tub with doors or a spider without?

Hi, it's got doors, but no fittings, or side screens. I hope to use it throughout the year, as much as possible,

Have you spoken to Steve at Furysportscars. Even if he can't supply new he might hear of a second hand one. They do occasionally appear in the for sale ads here or on JPSC forum.
With a full screen spider you'd need a half hood (and will work with doors as well. Soft-bits-for-sevens have patterns or you could take pictures of one to a hood maker like I did and let them come up with something.

Hi, I did call fury cars, I don't think I spoke to Steve. They told me that I would have to get a bespoke one made, they're recommendation of trimmer, said he could only make a hood with a frame already in place.

I think part of the problem is that there's a variety of roll hoops been fitted over the years (different owners of the brand) and the roof hoops have to clear that. The upholsterer wouldn't be able to pre-make before you have the hoops in situ'.

The car is finished, fury cars completed the build this year. It had been previously started, and was sold as soon as it was finished. It's proving difficult to find a trimmer who is able to make, both the frame and hood.

Sorry, I assumed it was an older build. Why do you need them both made by the same company? I suspect very few upholsterers are set up to design/build the frame. Get the hoop made (by Fury, someone else or make it yourself) then have the fabric done to fit.

I thought it would be easier for one person to make both. But I think your right, it will be easier to get the frame made, then concentrate on the hood. All hoods in Romford, will make me a bespoke hood, if I can organise the frame and header rail.

I have a spare Fury hood for sale if it's of any use, it's been in the spare room for at least 5 years. I got it 2nd hand, don't think it's ever been fitted. No hardware associated (hood frame, header rail, side windows) but can provide dimensions for these if of use. It's in Macclesfield, and I'm now in Malvern, but should be there in the coming weeks if interested?

Hi, I'm interested in the hood, and any information about hood frame construction.
