Striker mk2 front uprights

Does anyone know if a modified rs upright will fit with correct geometry where a non-rs upright is originally used?
I have non-rs uprights at the moment, and want to modify the cycle wing bracket arrangement (to stop them cracking, and fit different cycle wings), and also would like to use alloy hubs which seem to only available for rs type axle spindles.
Cortina alloy hubs have the same bearings as non-rs, but the wrong disc offset & different bearing spacing.
My car has sherpa track rod ends for lower balljoints, and maxi upper balljoints screwed into welded in inserts.
I know i would need track rod ends to match the rs steering arms.

hmmmm...i never expirienced that the orignal striker wing brackets failed.

so if this is your major intense, why not improve the brackets rather doing a hub-change?

are you sure your brackets are the correct ones? pic??

The original brackets have broken about 5 times, all close to the point at which they are welded to the tube.
I have some birkin carbon cycle wings that are far lighter than the original sylva ones, but will need completely different brackets.
I was thinking it would be easier to build up a pair of fresh uprights, than trying to re-bracket the old powercoated ones, and i would be able to use the car while building up the new uprights.
I know some cars were fitted with the rs uprights but i don't know if they had different rocker arm dimensions to get correct geometry or whether it is just a straight swap.

Also alloy hubs are far easier to get for the rs/capri uprights, Burton have contacted me to say their mk3/4/5 cortina ones will work with the escort uprights, but i am not convinced as the cortina has a different disc-bearing seat offset, and different bearing seat spacing.

The strut angles are all the same, the only difference with the RS stuff is bigger bearings and the strut tube is mounted 1" lower in the hub. The same as Capri legs. RS & Capri are all bolt on steering arms too, lesser Escorts are fixed to the hubs.
