Sylva J15 oil cooler

Fed up having to come in every 5 laps to cool down, it is ok at sprint meetings but a pain at track days. My solution (maybe, I hope)

Caterham sell the modine oil cooler for the sigma engine, these occasionally come up on eBay or keep an eye out on the Westfield and Caterham owners sites. No idea how they perform though.

I am booked on Knockhill on Thursday I will let you know. I don't have a temperature gauge but the oil pressure dropping is a good indication that all is not well I will fit a temp gauge but first things first.

I'd fit a gauge before you fit a cooler!

I take your point but I am absolutely certain the oil pressure diminishes as the engine heats up. The oil pressure is adequate running on normal roads. It is only track days that I have a problem where it drops significantly. This is quite a common problem with road cars when used on a track. I had a temp gauge on my Megabusa powered car, same problem, in that case the air flow over the oil cooler was not sufficient. The temperature gauge did not solve the problem more air flow did. There are other causes of low oil pressure I grant you but I am fairly sure this is a cooling issue for the oil.
