Toyo T1-R vs Yoko Parada
DIY Si - 23/2/09 at 11:49 PM

Evening all. It's finally time for me to replace the rubbish tyres on the Indy. Managed to trash the rear set of normal car tyres in less than 6,000 miles too! Anyway, I don't feel the need for anything as sticky as 888's and the like, so I've been looking at the T1-R and Parada. Anyone got any experience of either before I buy the wrong thing?

Just lost my post, coz it looked like I'd treble posted

So what did it say then?

Basically it said T1 R and S are OK in my book for road and wet track on a BEC

I have T1-R or T1-S (I forget) and they are rubbish. The part worn Pirelli P6000 that came with my second hand wheels were better. The Toyos don't warm up properly on the road and take a while on the track. R888 may be better but I'd avoid the T1.

Don't Avon make tyres specifically for the Caterham's low weight? Why not look at them?

Another tyre you might like to consider as an option is the Marangoni Zeta Linea - plenty use them for sprints and hillclimbs. Never used them myself mind but seem an excellent locost option for the price.

linky dinky

You should be able to find a local dealer for these anyway
