Mk Indy Blade or Raw Striker?
fullpint - 17/9/11 at 04:56 PM

Well these two are with in a reasonable distance from me and with in my price range.
Raw Striker http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2984566.htm
Mk Indy Blade http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3116819.htm
Both have been on PH a while now (re-listed) and I'm thinking about viewing one or both with the intention to buy
But which one (if any) is best?
Do these belong to anyone on here or does anyone know of them?

franky - 17/9/11 at 05:12 PM

If you could get that striker for 5.5k I'd say it was a good car for the price. A nova box removes the engines weak spot too.

scootz - 17/9/11 at 05:18 PM

I'd take the Striker over the MK....

mark chandler - 17/9/11 at 05:28 PM

Striker for me...

fullpint - 17/9/11 at 05:39 PM

Striker 3 Mk Indy 0
The full roll cage does it for me on the Indy but I do like the looks of the Striker end-end
Ok lets see what others say before I book a viewing. Not that I know what I'm looking for but I guess if it runs (no big rattles) and gear change is smooth (ish) and it turns and stops then I guess thats about it.
After all its a kit-car so I can't expect too much.

Wadders - 17/9/11 at 06:21 PM

If you want to go round corners very quickly buy the Striker......If you want to go off at corners very quickly buy the Indy...
Al

CRAIGR - 17/9/11 at 06:26 PM

A bit harsh that - but I think I'd go with the striker too

Wadders - 17/9/11 at 06:32 PM

I know, i'm feeling that way out today .....and was expecting a load of incoming for the comment.....however there is a hint of truth in the statement, only IMHO of course

Do consider whether you are going to be comfortable in a Striker...........

I guess the only way to find out is to try it!!
Been in touch with the guy and the price is fixed at £6K. Just had an oil/filter and plug change...
Trouble is no one wants to pay the asking price!!! I WISH I had asked to sit in the Striker I saw at Combe last weekend

TimC - 17/9/11 at 08:39 PM

I believe that the Striker used to be raced by Russell Haggerty in the WRDA Sports and Saloons - he then had a mega-spec Striker built to replace this one.

At least if you are dealing in Mag wheels you can ditch the silly 17s! Incidentally, your website seems to be down.

fullpint - 18/9/11 at 06:00 AM

web site should be up and running!!! Just checked and all seems fine.
So they are 17's, big is not always better. I do deal in new mags, just refurbish/powder coat. I would prefer 13's or 15's so I could use this to haggle on the price a little even though he is saying there is no movement Once a seller knows you have cash its hard not to drop on the price

fullpint - 20/9/11 at 03:52 PM

Would I be expecting to much to hold off for a month or so in the hope that prices will drop by a good 10-15% ??
The Mk Indy has been dropped in price already and the Raw started off at £6.4k.

Dopdog - 20/9/11 at 04:44 PM

i would wait it is a buyers market and if he wants to sell then give him the money its his loss not yours as there will be others for sale, just wait.

perksy - 20/9/11 at 05:00 PM

Another vote for the Striker

Iirc its been for sale for a while now ?

You are correct. This is his old car!! Good or bad that it's been driven hard in the past!
I'm off to see it either tomorrow or Saturday. Also tried to get it touch with Russell to find out a little more about the car.
If its not for me (as in I don't fit in it) I will continue the hunt. I do like Alan's Mk Indy Blade (Yellow :cool but by the time I find a courier to delivery the price starts to increase a tad plus I really feel the need to atleast side in the car before parting with any dosh

YODI - 22/9/11 at 08:06 PM

Ive been looking like crazy for the last 10 days and seen every single one for sale, the indy above you posted I really liked and like you the cage/look drew me to it, but my favourite one I found for sale was this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3237476.htm

I spoke to the guy yesterday, sounds like a top bloke, the car was factory built and has a stack dash and some nice bits, he wont budge far from £4500 he says but will a bit. Thats the one I'd be looking at if it were me, going by talking to him and the pics etc

Good luck, let us know what you find

tompat3463 - 22/9/11 at 08:19 PM

Mine cheaper tho. Lolol

and too far away, and I wouldnt hand you over cash and let a delivery company bring me it either.

tompat3463 - 22/9/11 at 09:04 PM

Well I did. I won it on eBay and made a deposit. Then flew to the owner and picked it up.
Never regretted one moment of it. I love the car. I'll be very very sad to see it go !

I know I'm working on the price though...
Glad that you finally sold your Indy mate, look forward to seeing the new build..

Nick DV - 23/9/11 at 07:05 AM

CONSIDER the advice on here, (some are biased towards different makes ) then go and try both (if they are still for sale). You will then get some idea on fit, feel and suitibility for yourself and then you can then make your on mind up. Simples!!

Cheers, Nick

That I am.. General view is the Raw but to all Mk owners that NOT to say the Inky is no good. As you said Nick try both to get a feel There is a Mk Indy on route so I may drop by and have a look at that too

eddie99 - 23/9/11 at 08:38 AM

If you can get in striker. Striker is would be for me too

fullpint - 23/9/11 at 11:35 AM

Missed out on them both Was booked to see the Striker later but just had a text from the guy.. He just sold it for the right money Guess its my own fault for being such a tight arse
No rush!!! Back to those selling sites I guess
I WILL JOIN YOU GUYS SOME TIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE...

YODI - 23/9/11 at 11:42 AM

What about the formula 27 I linked above?

fullpint - 23/9/11 at 12:28 PM

The F-27 (well that one) don't tick my boxes.. For a start I cant stand the colour. There was one on EBay (Blue/orange) which I was interested in but the guy was concerned about my legs hitting the dash and did not really want to sell it to me!! There is a Mk Indy in Cardiff which has a full cage and in Gloss Black, up for £5400 but again been on sale for a while now. You have been looking for 10+days Try 2+months
Our time will come. I reckon we will both end up bidding on the same one with out knowing

YODI - 23/9/11 at 08:25 PM

My search is now off, I ended up with comething completely different

scootz - 23/9/11 at 08:38 PM

You gonna tell us...

YODI - 23/9/11 at 08:41 PM

You wont like it though, but it does have 500 horses

scootz - 23/9/11 at 08:48 PM

You're right... it's minging!

As long as you're happy though... that's all that matters!

YODI - 23/9/11 at 08:50 PM

LOL, Marmite I told you so.... That blue F27 would have been mine as I really liked it, guy said it needs linkesgaes tightening as it sometimes misses other than that sounds like a great car and right up my street.

fullpint - 23/9/11 at 08:51 PM

Thats is totally different??? From a 500kg car to a 5000kg car hence the need for 500BHP to get the thing moving
What spec is it?

scootz - 23/9/11 at 08:53 PM

YODI - 23/9/11 at 08:54 PM

HAHA I know, was my mates car he mentioned it over a sushi, next think I knew a bag of money was handed over

Sounds a bit fishy to me . I'm still hanging on to the plan of getting a BEC even though it will be cold and damp where as you will be nice and toasty

fullpint - 30/9/11 at 07:29 PM

Proud owner of a Mk Indy. Ok most of you said go for the Raw but that sold for more money..
I'm more happy with the Mk Indy Blade

austin man - 30/9/11 at 07:42 PM

You will be happy with it I can assure you. You will no doubt change things to suit. One of the est things you can do is get some karting boots

fullpint - 2/10/11 at 06:12 PM

Im more than happy with it...
Just took the wife out in it and she said 'Thats the best ride you have even given me'
She thought it was AWESOME
