Wondering if anyone has tried the new Yokohama range A Drive and C Drive.

Local dealer is knocking them out for about £40 I think fitted and balanced.

Has anyone tried any of the following:

Kumho KU31 Ecsta - Coming in at about £25
Falken ZE512 - £30 Used them on a couple of front wheel drive cars in the past and really liked them, they look great too.

Any thoughts appreciated, not sure if I could justify R888s this time round but have no experience of tyre choices and Lotus 7 types.

Are there any tread patterns which help with the dreaded self centering? Or is this not as much of an issue.

Depends what size you are after I've seen Eagle F1 GSD3's and Toyo T1-S or T1-R for just over 30quid delivered (fitting on top, I know a place for a fiver a corner).

This is in 195/50R15 from mytyres.co.uk

Anyone got anything better than that in the same size?

I've used Eagle F1's before on my previous car (2litre turbo jap thing), not given Toyo's a go yet but would like to. Supposed to wear a bit quicker than F1's but similar performance.

Thats cheap, not had any experience of any of them, but I dont think theres much point in spending a fiver less when you can get some really good tyres for a bit more

I built my Striker on Falken ZE512. Good value for money but have a soft sidewall.

Great for ride quality and sideways action on track but they do over heat quickly. They have no where near the ultimate grip of the Toyo R888 I now use but much cheaper.

Id agree about the softer compund of the ZE512. however, I see this as a bit of a plus point for such a light car. i really want to avoid a hard wearing tyre because theyre sure to be down on grip in such a light application.
