Where are the good build diaries?
adampage - 1/5/07 at 04:03 PM

I've read some great build diaries over the past few years (DP, the R1 Striker, the Beardmore Morris Minor, Kimini, Dick Bear's Mclaren, etc) but they all seem to be built now.

I haven't seen any new ones starting up recently which are still building. Have people stopped writing them? Is it too much hassle?

Am I looking in the right place? I've seen a few which are proper 'kits' (but they're sometimes a bit straightforward), but not many scratch-built / unique / modified ones.

I've found them really interesting - do you? Does anyone know of others?

Thanks,
Adam.

The only interesting thing about mine is that it starts off saying how I'm going to build the car in a week (2 people, 7 days work 9-6) but the most recent entry is over 5 years later!!!)....

I was also thinking of posting the same question, had also followed those you mentioned with interest and wondered if anyone had found some new ones. We like the scratch build diarys!

Was also reading a couple of Ultima builds

Hi All.

If you go your own way and make things yourself, then the way you make them will depend on your own skills,
and the tools at your disposal.

Personally I enjoy building and making things, even to the extent of spending time making the tools to make the part.
I also get a kick out of mastering a new skill, but I accept that I am in the minority, and most of what I do would
be of little interest to anyone, hence no build diary.

I know my limitations, hence I shy away from electronics, fuel injection, fibre glass, and anything to do with paint.

'Poooters arn't exactly a strong point either.

Ours is regularly updated but there is no new build bits on it... sorry

Doing the Car and a build diary is a thankless and time consuming task... need to have a REALLY understanding missus for that!

Nevermind - someone will be building one as we speak. I think Gingerprince is doing one actually...

Now, I wasn't saying kit ones were boring, sorry to offend anyone, but it's
the more weird/pioneering ones which are the best for me.

However, if i was about to build a kit, then the kit ones would be very useful.
