3 questions - R1 - Fuel pump - diff
millemg - 9/5/07 at 04:10 PM

Firsly, have I got my Bosch pump the right way round for flow, and also, where is the best place for an inline filter. I hoped it can go up front near the engine for easy access ?

Next. I noticed on one side of my diff, there is a small bracket bolted here, but is missing from this side, is it important ?

And lastly........Engine mounting bolts on a 5pw R1, they look like 10mm but seem to have a finer thread than M10 , anybody know what they are?

Cheers in advance

If the mounting bolts on most bike engines are anything to go by they will be M10x1.25 pitch.

The diff should have a little y-shaped plate which locks the bearing retaining/adjustment ring (the castellated bit). You should be able to knock one up out of a bit of plate.

No idea about pump.

hi mate the diff one doesnt look important

the r1 threads are very fine and you need longer bolts to go through your engine mounts

I think I have a load left as there quite expensive

ill have a look

What type of pump is that?

As for the mounts, I used M10 fine bolts through the cradle into the the engine, they weren't long bolts.

The bottom bolt that's on the chassis rail I drilled and tapped to M12 coarse.
I used 2 bolts, one from each side.

It's a Bosch electric pump from an Alfa V6 injection, so I think it will cope I just don't know which way it flows.

Which side is the high pressure fitting
Mine is on the same end as the power contacts.

12mm connector to tank, 8mm connector to fuel pipe
