Ok, daft question maybe, but i was wondering what percentage through my build I am.
Heres what Ive done-
chassis complete, engine in, gbox etc in , whole drivetrain done.
Front suspension done, needs set up, brakes stripped and overhauled
So, it runs fine, and yesterday I drove it up and down a quiet side lane(touch illegaly, maybe)
Got no bodywork on, no instruments, no dash, no lights at all
But loom is in, tested and marked
Seats sitting in, not mounted
Harnesses to do

SO.... what percentage have i done, and whats left??

As a sum of bits, about 70% of the way there.



In labour time, about, about 30% of the way......






There was a saying that I picked up a while ago. "You can build 90% of the car in 10% of the time, but the other 10% of the car takes 90% of the time."

How true (for me anyway) it was.....

Being able to drive it helps though

i'm sure ur meant to say nearly there! i havent got a rolling chassis yet and im holding out for this summer!

Another tip, dont look at finishing the car, just knock off one job at a time. Bite sized chunks.

Although even some of the bite sized chunks take some chewing sometimes...

most of the jobs that are left are the "5 miniute jobs", problem is there will be thousands of them!!!!!
also you will find that the car will never be finished, as even after 5 years on the road I still spend tinkering time every week

Maybe your 'tinkering' is why it isn't finished yet Steve...

But at least its taxed and mot,d and ready to drive

tinkering is just perfecting the car
