The Gordon Keeble - I WANT ONE!
DaveFJ - 6/10/03 at 08:30 AM

Was watching some TV program at the weekend and they mentioned a classic car called the Gordon Keeble. So I had a quick look on the net and found this website

http://www.gordonkeeble.com/index.html

Basically it is a 1966 sports car with a space frame and GRP bodywork and - wait for it - a chevy V8...

Having a look at this site - well basically it bloody gorgeous and enourmously ahead of its time. they even provide on the site a couple of piccys of the spaceframe - looks a bit complicated. I wonder what ever happened to the body molds ???

If you want convincing look at he pefformance specs...

0-100 mph in 10 secs with 300 horsies

Last Eurotunnel cross I took there were 5 of these ugly b*stards (only kidding - they ain't too bad I suppose) in my carriage with lots of chaps with tweed coats and moustaches driving them......

Yeah,

Me big fan of GK. Wanted one for years, just never (still) had the money for one.

Always look for a Trident Clipper (or similar). Not as good looking, but still with big 8.

The Keeble just appeals to me - with the space frame chassis and the fibre glass bodywork it just screams - Kit Car...

The original body molds must be around somewhere...

British carmakers played around quite a bit in the 60's,the Daimler Dart was another.

Triumph had a go with ali as well when they re-bodied a TR4 with a really sexy body, alas they only made the one car.
Luckily its tucked away in my mates garage
