Hi all,
I'm a new member here, been into kit cars for sometime but am embarking on a mammoth project like some others here - a mid-engined scratch
build... until I went to Detling anyway, and saw Robin Hood's new Zero kit car.... I like it!
A friend had a 2B and he said it was awful to build, and I know a lot of people have slated the bent-tube chassis, but the Zero is much more of a
'book' design. It's also a bargain and their display model was pretty tasty looking in brushed ally with coloured gelcoat wings + nose,
zetec on bike carbs.
Anyone got any opinions of the Zero? Minimal details on their site at the moment.

Its a good book copy and I think its good value. I think the quality might suffer under the cheaper cheaper ethos of robin hood.
getting the chassis to go round corners will be your biggest problem

its not to my taste, but every review i've seen gives it a big thumbs up.
Excellent thanks for the responses, looks to be an ok option from what I've read now. Was thinking of going for the basic kit then spec'ing
the extra's myself rather than ending up with a bunch of cheap 'does the job' bits that are bundled with the comprehensive kit and make
the car look cheap (i.e. headlights).

It looked like a pretty good chassis to me, and the finished car is certainly one of the better looking efforts from this company. However, I'm
not convinced the VFM is there to justify it over a more established locost manufacturer.

The Robin hoods have a very poor image,I would steer well clear,if your going to buy the basic kit they spec it up,you may as well buy,a MK or Mac 1,both of these would cost you a little more,but would both be worth a lot more when they are finished.
Tend to agree with Paul, at the moment I would stick with the known, Robin hoods reputation will take a while to change (if at all!). Not good for
re-sale value..

Saw the chassis at Newark last year and thought it a great improvement over the older models from them . Suspect the new owners are trying to improve on the company image? however mud sticks and they may find it an uphill battle.
