They are very helpful, you have to go through certain processes before they can intervene. They will help you with this though.

We currently have a dispute ongoing against paypal with the FSO, long winded job but I will not rest till we beat the tankers.

They really are decent and knowledgeable to deal with. I contacted them when the Halifax removed £1000 from my account by accident but wouldn't give it back. They said I had to wait, I think it was 6 weeks which was standard "notice" for the bank to attempt to correct the problem before they would wade in.
However, I rang Halifax at the end of the 6 weeks just to gloat and say "you're for it now!" They just refunded the money there and then over the phone. I believe these financial people get quite scared when the FSO get involved. Best of luck.
