Where to get pub gas
An old work colleague gave me 2 half to three-quarters full pub gas bottles a while ago. I've been merrily using one to build my chassis and it
finally ran out today. I swapped it over to the other to find that was empty too. I weighed them both and they are both completely gone.
Can I get these refilled? If not, where can I find some more? I'm almost done with the chassis so don't want to rent a bottle on
contract but then don't really want a small bottle from Machine Mart as it seems pot luck whether they seal properly and so run out in hours or
days.

I got one from a local beer wholesaler. £15, no rental. BTW I bought a keg of Fosters to go with it
BUT they wouldn't let me put the gas bottle in the car, I had to take the trailer.

Look for the nearest fire extinguisher company and ask them, most seem happy to help, especially when paying by cash for some strange reason

They're quite near me. I'll give them a call. £15 from a pub sound good too.

I walk out of my local £15 poorer on a regular basis......
and that doesn't include any gas.
Seriously, this is the way to go.

The tool box charge £65 to buy a 2kg bottle, then £6.50 to exchange your empty for a full bottle.
Macine mart charge £8.80 for a 600g bottle, or £29.33 for 2 litres worth. The big bottle works out cheaper once you get to your second refill. Mind
you, 6 litres is a lot of gas for the welding I do.

If taking it back to the pub you might want to check that the bottle is still in date with respect to the pressure testing.
If not the pub will not accept it back, or if they dont notice then the gas guy who comes to take it away from the pub WILL.
Than your local landlord will be left with having to fork out for a replacement bottle

Some fire extinguisher companys can fill them for you.My local company used to but had some hassle with the brewerys so now they supply a co2
extingusher converted to a screw type valve and refill them for about £15.
I came across a couple of co2 extingushers and have been using them by fitting the reg and then pinning down the top, main problem is that they have a
dip tube to dispense liquid and so sometimes freeze the reg.
