Sierra Information
Ok I've possibly got a donor ( if no one gets there first.
But is it the right one?????
What engine/box combination can I expect to find on an H plate estate 2ltr ghia.
I'm thinking it'll prolly be a tc the seller doesn't know and is not near the car at the moment to look So I'm
hoping all you knowledgable people can tell me. Please hurry cause the price is right.

H reg is 1990-91. The SOHC engine changed to injection in 1989 and the DOHC engine came in fully in 1992. But the DOHC was fitted in some cars before
that date...
The best way to tell is either get the bloke to lift the bonnet and tell you what the engine looks like, or find out whether the engine is 1993cc or
1998cc former being the pinto, latter the DOHC.

Is it likely to have a CAT or not and will the head be ok for unleaded.Just thinking it could maybe be an auto if its a Ghia as well.
If it's the right one there could be a surplus of parts on here shortly.

It wont have a CAT, or at least highly unlikely...
The head will be fine for unleaded whether its pinto (all pintos after 1988/89 were unleaded OK) or DOHC (all DOHC are unleaded OK) though.

I would put money on it being a dohc with mt75 box .And it wont have a cat.
The engine is designed to run on unleaded fuel. The box will still mount to other Ford motors inclueding the zetec
