New Member in New England

Hello, I hope I've chosen the right place to introduce myself!

Ever since seeing "The Prisoner" when it was repeated on PBS-TV in the late 1970's I have wanted a Lotus Super 7. I'd pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I couldn't afford a Caterham until after the kids finished college (they are 6 and 11 now).

I was completely un-aware of the Locost until just last week when I saw a short article about them in "Make:" magazine - I was stunned! Oh yeah!

I've got the book now and have been thinking about appropriate doner cars available here in the US. I would love to hear form any builders in the Massachusetts area.

Of course I have to finish my current project first.

Cheers,

Jake.

The bus is amazing, but have you seen all the other inventions? I particularly like the mobile phone built into an old fashioned handset.

Wow! this forum is jumping, that's a great sign!

I've found the Yahoo group and will check out locostusa.com right now.

As for getting the car in the back of the bus - that's where the bedroom is, however I think I could get it on the roof with a couple of stern davits. Captain's gig, eh?

The family and I are planning a narrow boat vaction starting in Falkirk this summer with a week in the south to follow. I'm hoping I can find a Locost gathering in the right time and place.

Cheers,

Jake.

Just google "KAR 120C" and you will find loads of "Prisoner' information and pictures of the black and yellow Seven S II Patrick McGoohan drove - I'll have to try for those plates in Mass.

Check out the 'Clubs and Events' section for local meetings. You'll find that I organise something every month around the middle of the country. Usually just south of Birmingham.

If you're around and fancy joining us, anytime to suit you, drop me a U2U.

Who is this super hero? Sarge? ...No.
Rosemary, the telephone operator? ...No.
Penry, the mild-mannered janitor? ...Could be!
