MNR Manual Sequence Q?
l5tuy - 12/10/15 at 08:59 PM

Alright guys?

Just reading through the manual in anticipation for beginning the build and have a question. Ive printed it out and catalogued it in the numbered sequence as was supplied by MNR (1 to 20). However having read through it seems a bit arse about face (not in correct build sequence), first section is installing fuel tank but its about another 5 sections before fitting lines/pump/filter. Another example is fitting wiring harness including trimming rear panel, however the rear panel isnt fitted untill a further couple of sections

Is this just the way the manual is and typical of a firm focused on the mechanical side (not a bad thing)? Or have i catalogued it in wrong order?

Based on its current layout im thinking ill build it in my sequence of assembly consulting manual to reference how to attach the sub assemblies/parts.

Thoughts appreciated as always.

Can't comment on mnr specifically, but my Westfield build sequence was in general terms this :

Bottom, rear, tunnel and front footwell panels.
Fuel lines
Brake lines
Saddles for wiring while access was good
Pedals
Side panels
Wishbones, steering, suspension
Diff, driveshafts, hubs
Brakes
Wheels
Tank and fuel pump
Loom
Engine, gearbox, prop
Scuttle panel and more wiring
Plumbing
Body panels
Roll bar (maybe earlier would be better, but was not available earlier)
Scuttle, instruments, wiring
Exhaust
Engine ancillaries etc
Lights
Tunnel top gaiters etc
Seats
Harnesses
Mirrors
Aeroscreen

Yeah the manual doesn't really follow a logical sequence.

I found it easier to read a few peoples blogs to which gave me an idea of the best way forward.

Fuel tank in my manual isn't till section 10. Fuel lines are section 5
Sounds like the wrong order

My manual is maybe 3 years old now though, but I'd think the order should be roughly the same

Am building one at the moment, is yours a Vortx? Start with the footwell pannels/bulkheads then followed by clutch, brake master cylinders..

Thanks for all the comments guys!

Yeh, Vortx buddy.

Looks like it'll require a bit more research before beginning.
