immobiliser pick up coil placement
PaulBuz - 7/1/09 at 04:12 PM

I'm running a keyless system on my car, as I know many others are.
I would like to place my pick up coil very close to the seat so that I don't have to take the transponder out of my pocket.
Question is how have others placed & secured the pick up coil?

Hi,

Some of the AA vans have the pickup coil mounted in the backrest of the drivers seat, and the transponder is attached to the back of the drivers belt.

member on here (Brooky) had his in the trans tunnel. As long as the transponder was in his left pocket the car worked.

(not sure if he reads this any more - if you do hello mate, not seen you in ages, nope, i've still not finished but i intend doing so this year!!!)

ooh... I didn't think of that. Other option would be under the seat I guess?

Unless I did the transmission tunnel in Carbon. Now that is a thought.
