saxo drive shaft

hi all, i have a 1.1 saxo 2000(w reg) 4 stud model and i think that my cv joint is going or gone, as i get a knocking noise when i trun (right), and i am locking at geting a drive shaft for it. is there a differnace between the 1999 ones and a 2000 one? as well the litre of a car such as 1.4 or 1.6 one?

why not get a replacement CV joint? surely that will be cheaper.

a lot of these french drive shafts are "one piece",you get them exchange from GSF/euro car parts etc,they armt dear anyway.give the supplier your reg no and they will give you the right shaft

Worth jacking up each front wheel and checking the wheel bearings also. They can give the same knock on lock as the drive shaft CVJ's.

i did mine on my pug106 ( uses same parts)

there are several different variations for the 3stud or 4 stud hubs

on the pug 106 the shafts are different on early, and late models ( around 2000 was the change)

mine was a 1998, but i fitted 2000 by mistake. They fit but the difference is the face that mates upto the wheel bearing. one has a curved edge, the other doesnt. using the wrong one kills your wheel bearing ( which are a complete bitch to do. i ended up trading the car in because i couldnt face changing them again

i will jack it up probaly new years day, and have a look, as well mini is 2000just as it changes taht will be fun to make sure i get the right ones.

Why don't you go to a pug dealer? give them the reg, they will give you the part number, then go to GSF with the part number and get the right part? IIRC my 106 drive shaft was £50 job done in 20 mins.

Don't forget the gearbox oil !!
