Is anyone clued up on current road tax?
Question is, if i was to buy a Japanese import pajero/shogun , would i have to pay road tax based on its date of manufacture or its date of
registration in this country.

no idea but i love your avatar
As I understand it, when you import and register a vehicle, you will end up with an appropriate registration pertaining to the year of the vehicles manufacture. I assume that the answer is the vehicle manufacture date will be the date used from a vehicle taxation perspective.
All I can find is the proportional tax is relavent to vehicles registered after March 31 2001, doesn't specify 'in the UK'
i thought they paid more attention to engine size?
It wil be on relevant year i.e. year of manufacture. Same for a yank wagon, etc

Kind of hoped that would be the case.
