Sierras- where are you?
James - 2/2/02 at 01:02 PM

Is it me or have suitable Sierra donors (now that I've come to seriously look for one) suddenly come in short supply.

I've just gone and picked up, Loot, Freead, AdTrader, Local Ads and Friday ad and have found a grand total of jack didley.
Thought this was gonna be the easy bit!

Oh well, the search continues...

I can get a G reg with v5 for £40 if that helps.
I will ask local trader to look out he got me two for £40 last year.

A neighbour has got one with alloy wheels, i know she wants £50 for it but last time I tried to sell it (at her request) she never got me the log book, I could try her again if you want.
More interestingly there is also a H reg carlton 1.8 injection going, that way you get RWD and a decent engine

buy Vauxhall, you know it makes sense

Put a wanted card in your local newsagents saying you will take any sierra MOT fail or not for free, they might even give you a few quid to take it.
As from march/april breakers will be charging big money to clear old cars.
New regulations, everything must be recycled not just crushed,so people will be very happy to let you have their wreck.

Thanks for the offers, I'll put an ad up around where I live- as I don't fancy driving an uninsured MOT failure too far to get it to my house.
If I don't get any luck soon I'll give you guys a yell. Gotta be soon as without a chassis or a donor it's awfully hard to actually get anything done at all as so many things I want to do rely on modding or at least measuring bits from the donor.
I guess I also want to be quick if I'm gonna get it taken away cheaply. Although I have had a bit of luck- a mate of mine works for a skip company and has said if I give him a ring he'll come round with any half empty skips he has and I can fill them to my hearts content! Don't know how good a plan that is- cutting up the Sierra chassis enough to fit it in a skip might be more effort than it's worth.

Anyway, thanks again.
