Guess the car!
donut - 20/3/09 at 10:06 AM

To stop an argument on another forum, what car do we think this is in the garage?

iiyama - 20/3/09 at 10:09 AM

Early Supra?

omega0684 - 20/3/09 at 10:09 AM

is the 'knight 2000' (kit) coming out of retirement

rb968 - 20/3/09 at 10:10 AM

Mitsubishi Starion (like Clarkson had on Top Gear)?

handyandy - 20/3/09 at 10:12 AM

starion is my guess

Doofus - 20/3/09 at 10:12 AM

Deffo Starion.
Had one myself many moons ago.
Ah the memories of going everywhere sideways

omega0684 - 20/3/09 at 10:14 AM

my next guess was going to be the dellorian from back to the future

bilbo - 20/3/09 at 10:14 AM

Yep, another vote for a starion:

omega0684 - 20/3/09 at 10:21 AM

i actually really like the look of that car, can you pick them up on the cheap?

DarrenW - 20/3/09 at 10:22 AM

Before scrolling down i immediately thought Starion.

Looks like different indicators and number plate area though to the black one, apart from that very similar. Maybe the black one is Japan spec and white one is UK car.

Second guess would be a very dead car.

I'm sure you could get one cheep but running it could be a problem.

Parts 8 years ago were a problem. Waiting 6 weeks for a delivery from Japan.

Thanks guys, deff a Starion. That will stop the arguing

iank - 20/3/09 at 10:34 AM

Amusing story told to me by a Japanese culture trainer - don't know if it was true but has the ring of possibility.

The Starion name was communicated from Mitsubishi HQ to the UK sales office via telephone.
Sadly it was supposed to be called the Stallion (in the same theme as the Colt), but the accent caused a bit of a problem.
By the time they'd figured out the problem it had already been launched.

The other theory is that it was a shortened "Star of Orion".

But the Stallion one sounds better

Jasper - 20/3/09 at 11:14 AM

Yup - nice looking car, but if you want a bit of Jap muscle then you'd be better off with a 200SX, 300ZX or Supra .... more about and probably cheaper for parts....

Davey D - 20/3/09 at 11:47 AM

i think it could be an old RX7 FC. it looks like there is a bonnet vent on it like the turbo models have

The White one is a narrow body, and it's on a B plate (early one) which ties up.

The black one is a later wide body and has different lights, wings, splitter etc.

I'll take the anorak off now

Remember them in the BTCC?

2 black cars look very similar except the orientation of the indicators is different.
