Do you think the turbo would fit onto me crossflow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

interestedparty - 29/7/02 at 12:33 PM

It would probably fit but the turbine would be too large to spin well in the crossflow rev range. The ideal thing would be to remove the turbine half and use a bike engine to spin the shaft, plenty of boost for the xflow then

Christ almighty.

Trust me, my engine's big but that's taking the pi**.

Wonder what kind of torque that bugger's got though...

Dom - 31/7/02 at 09:47 PM

For BEC people, how about this then:

one huge-engined bike

scutter - 1/8/02 at 10:44 AM

I can find bigger engines than that puffy heli engine lying around at work, may need a bigger fuel tank though!!!!!!!!!

bob - 1/8/02 at 07:14 PM

Got any of them big 24 litre W12 Napier engines lying around,as used in the Napier Railton(John Cobb).

Fuxache !

I have seen one of those engines - its in the national railway museum in york.

Also, a similar 'boxer' engine was used , a piston at each end of the bore - in a commer van engine. An example I think is in either the coventry museum of road transport, the the donnington collection - more likely the coventry one.

Chaps,

Just received latest drivel from Auto Express.

Item on Ford's new F350 Tonka

"a 6.0-litre 32-valve turbodiesel, thundering out 350bhp and 815Nm of torque"

How about that for a torque fig
