Anyone in construction? Steel walkway
alistairolsen - 21/4/09 at 09:50 AM

Somewhere in the past i have seen pressed steel walkway sections somewhere around 13 feet long with an punched pattern of holes to provide tread. I can only guess they were to use instead of scaffolding battens?

Does anyone know where I might find some similar sections (needs to be about 300mm or more wide with a folded flange and web on each side) preferably galvanised.

Anyone in the scaffolding or construction industry familiar with the kind of thing Im on about?

Cheers

Google steel battens - lots of suppliers.

Seems it does exist, albeit only up to 2.5m length.

Dont want anything custom made, standard pressings cheap is what Im after Its for trailer beds. All I need to find out is what the MSWL is.

Try these people:

PcP Gratings Ltd
Enterprise Drive
Four Ashes
Wolverhampton
Tel: 01902 791792

When I worked in construction, I recall they made a punched steel plank.
