After the farce with Freeeserve and their ever changing release date I got an email from my new supplier saying I would be connected from 11/03/04. I looked at the modem today and the lights are on so I checked it and I'm connected. Thank you Freedom2Surf, brilliant.

yours, Pete.

I was on with Freeserve for the trial and decided I didn't want to continue. These are £5 cheaper for the basic service. Freeserve kept me connected for 30 days but disabled my password so I couldn't use the service or transfer to another.

always good to know another ISP!!!

Keeps the competition on their toes - did you get modem and free connection Pete?

Do you have to use BT landline?

I had my own modem. Connection is charged if you leave within the first 12 months but you can leave, not on a 12 month contract. You can buy a modem for £40 so the lower price covers that anyway. It still uses BT's line. If you look on http://www.adslguide.org.uk/ you can find lots of suppliers.and compare services.
