Sort of envy you Europeans, lots of exotic places nearby...
London to Instanbul is about the same distance as Cleveland, Ohio, to Butte, Montana. Ho-hum.
Not much point in speaking more than one language, really.
Unless I want to talk to the gardener
j/k of course.
Pete
I'm from exotic Preston.......now live in slightly more exotic east central florida....
Is'nt that a swamp?
Then again even thats an improvement on Preston!
Oi.....and erm...Oi...
Nah, it's pretty unswampy here...although a 30 minute drive can put me in some pretty swamp areas.....great if like hunting gators.....
Preston isn't that bad either..well wasn't 10 years ago...but, yeah, I couldn't see me moving back...just such shite weather...
Sounds like the start of a limerick thread to me.
There is a guy online from Brazil,
Whose hamster is looking quite ill,
He said with a frown,
We'd have it put down,
If the vet wouldn't send us a bill.

By the way I used to have an Alfasud 1.5ti. Brilliant motor, shame about the rot. I wish I could have kept up with the welding on it, I really liked it.
There used to be someone that posted from Argentina.
(Is there a limerick for Argentina Pete?)

the alfa flat four 1,5 on quad carbs was a sweet revving motor, I had one in a sprint, tuned, with race suspension, hard or what! never got close to
its limits, and most passengers climbed the walls when I took big rounabouts at speed. memories!

Mine had twin 45 downdraughts, Koni suspension and an Ansa exhust. It sounded beautiful at 7,000rpm and was a pretty looking car as well, black with
grey windows and Alfa alloys. I would like one as a toy now but they've all rotted away. I had an orange 4 door 1500 as well for spares as they
were getting scarce then. Ahh memories.

I bought one for 50 quid to do up. Noticed a bit of drop on o/s door but couldn't see any slack in hinge.
Then I noticed n/s front wing moving
Filled it with crap and called s/yard to take it away!
Only 1200cc, but great little engine!
Pete,
Europeans only need to speak one langauge too. If they wanna talk to me that is
Trouble is most most of them are too lazy to learn it

about English...we should think ourselves very lucky that English is the international language, thanks to the Brit Empire. Thats an interesting subject. Anyone feel the brits should be ashamed or proud of it???
as posted previously
if it wern't for the british / american / canadian / aussie
then most of the world would now be speaking german

and another
DO NOT OPEN AT WORK!.
Alfa,
Most of what the UK has done we can be proud of. Bound to be a few (and this is 2004 talk) human rights issues now, but during the days of the empire,
were we any worse than the Romans or the Vikings etc. I doubt it.

Sure, I agree there is plenty to be proud of. It has been popular to denigrate the Empire as greedy and which did terrible things, the truth is that
there were some questionable things done, but all in all it was a pretty benevolent governance. Shame we started the slavery thing to the Americas
tho! At least we tried to stop it before anyone else did.
Anyway, tomorrow I'll post a pic of a carnival girl, let me know your opinions...
