A mate of mine's looking at picking up a 2000 BMW 7 Series 728i.
They reliable enough, owt to look out for?
Cheers.
Oooo -its a big barge...
Check electrics including digtal displays. Engine is reliable - you want s/h though.
I'm sure owning one is like setting fire to your wallet
plenty of review on the web like this -
linky
my 328 (i think its the same engine) and can be surprisingly decent on petrol if you drive carefully. got 142000 on mine and its still good.
of course i expect the 7 series to be a fair bit heavier
Might want to check if the engine has Nikasil liners, it should be ok as steel liners were introduced in 1999, but not unknown for new cars to sit around for a while.
Bit gutless for such a big barge. I'd look for a 735 minimum.
I had a 735 for a very short while, used loads of fuel, power steering dumped its fluid on the floor twice got scared by repair costs so got shot
after a couple of weeks.
That ended my days of BMW ownership, want a big car get a jag, much nicer ambiance.
730 is far superior, more power, more mpg, more torque just better
Cheers, I think he's looking at other toys now
