Where to buy a snap-on (bluepoint) tool trolley
carpmart - 26/8/09 at 09:06 AM

Chaps

My company have offered me a small amount of sponsorship and I want to buy a trolley like this;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLUE-POINT-SNAP-ON-TOOL-BOX-TROLLEY-ROLL-CART_W0QQitemZ270445516339QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Garage_Equipment_Tools_Tool_Boxes_Stora ge?hash=item3ef7cf1633&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

My question is, where can I buy one new from in the UK? Google show results for them in US but not UK?

My second question is are there any similar good quality alternatives I should consider?

Thanks!

From what i can see you are able to buy products from there website, in the uk.

Home page, click on the UK flag.

I believe from what i hear vans come round places, so you may be able to get a better deal from one of those - not used them myself!!!link

Now I may get shot down for this, but here goes....

I once had some Blue Point Snap-On screwdrivers and honestly wasn't overly impressed with them. I understand that they are good, but at what point do you draw the line and work out the cost/benefit ratio?

A couple of people I know use Halfords tools, as they have an exchange policy; they'll probably need replacing more often than Snap-On stuff, but they're significantly cheaper.

Personally, I've always got on well with Sealey items. I've bought bits n pieces over the years, and they've got a lifetime warrenty with them too (bar one torx bit used for brake callipers). In fact, I've just placed an order for a tool draw/chest system, 14 ball bearing drawers and top cabinet/lower chest. Total cost £310.00, plus it comes free with what they call £550 worth of tools (I beg to differ), but still it's a brilliant set that I can't fault.

Maybe have a look at their Workshop Storage Solutions 2009 and see what's on offer?

So, don't feel like you have to go with Snap-On just because they're the most common name, have a hunt around first and see what's on offer from other competitors....

I use Machine Mart Professional Range of cabinets/draws.

Brilliant, and good value.

My mate has one of those. Bought it from his local mobile Snap-On man. Have you tried yellow pages for your local dealer?

Either order direct from Snap-on Uk 01536413800 OR order direct from the web site linky
OR you could just hop on one of your local reps vans and order it there. I would tell you who he is (my wife works for snap on) but she's not here at the moment she's on holiday down at her mums in Hastings.

And no I don't get wonderful discounts, to be honest I can usually negotiate better discounts on the reps vans.
