Woo hoo, Just completed my first aid at work training (thankfully before it turns into a 3 day from 4 day course).

If any of you have any severed limbs or deep cuts, PM the offending part and I'll reply with it bandaged within the week

(You may have to use FTP for large items such as legs).

I feel safer already

i did mine about 30 years ago and only used it about twice,then 3 years ago a little old lady crashed her bike into the back of the van i was driving and broke her leg, everything i had been taught came rushing back.
well worth having (especially if the patient is fit/blonde/having breathing difficulties)

ive done my rescue emergency care, its more detailed than first aid at work due to been suited for outdoor and remote locations.

loved the blood and gore!

we also had two hot blondes come play patients for us! that livened the course up!

I am starting my training for First Aid at Work next Tuesday.

Now, i need to see, what i have to do to become a Fire Warden

Fire warden is a right laugh. You get an afternoon (or day I think) being shown, and having a go with fire extinguishers.

We thought one guy on the course was going to keel over when he saw the gore gallery of wound types.

I think the de-gloving was the one that got the most groans, followed by ruptured eye ball.

One of our first aiders actually saved a colleague. Guy keeled over with a major heart attack, and he kept him going until paramedic and ambulance arrived.

Nice going. Apparently without a defib avaliable only 6% of people survive basic life support.
