Been made an offer of an Alfa 156. Runs fine and generally looks the part.
There is a bit of a dent in the OSR quarter and I'm wondering if this might be repairable without too much grief.

Any body shop type people care to comment ?

Or maybe if anyone has used one of the mobile 'smart' services, is this the sort of thing they can do ?

Based on my experience of them, whatever you do steer well clear of Autorestore...

Its a bit of a crease close to the wing detail.
Could be a little difficult, show the pics to a body shop, ask for a fixit price, reduce offer by that + VAT.

Had a second look at the photo, edge detail is creased aswell. reduce offer to "It will need a new wing and paint mate"

I'd say that is beyond a smart repair and into the realm of a proper bodyshop repair with the full panel needing to be painted at least.

I had worse than this when my lovely wife drove my Alhambra down the side of the garden fence and although I got it fixed on the insurance, I was told by the repairer that it would have cost me about £800 to fix. This included spraying the entire side of the car in pearlescent Satin Silver and a few trim parts (eg. door handle and door trims). I'd think you might be looking at a similar cost to repair to a good standard.

By the way, your efforts to obscure the registration number are a bit weak. You might want to have another go with paint or whatever.

I used dent wizzard when i backed into my mrs's car when it was on ebay for sale!

They were great, i managed to bend the bloke and get him to do it as a cash job so it only cost me £60 rather than £80.

My old boss had one of those cars and it was turely awfull, interior trim litterally fell off in your hand and it was in the garage more often than not.

I hope for your sake his was a one off because i cost £000's to keep it running.

I had an Audi A4 as a company car that had a very similar crease on the wheel arch.

Three local bodyshops quoted in the £200-300 region. One of the mobile lads came out and filled it and sprayed it for £120.

Made quite a good job of it, but didn't quite match the number of sparkly bits in the metallic paint. Same size bits, just not quite as many per inch of paint.

There a guy in Uddingston/Bothwell does smart repairs don't know how good he is. Those creases will will need filler.

However I would advise avoiding any modern Alfas at all costs apart from the normal Italian build quality and electrical problems the valve gear and cam belt problems on them are major and occur at low mileages (25,000 miles onwards) , hence rock bottom second hand value.

Trouble is it looks like the metal above the crease is bent so it'll need panel-beating and filling....

Regarding the car in question, it's been in the family for quite a while now and it is far from being an unknown quantity. It would be very much on the basis of me getting it and then paying in a wee while if nothing has fallen off.
