Very wierd.
Vendor had a buy-it-now price and a BestOffer button.
I did a BestOffer of about 2% below the BIN price and they've done a counter offer of the BIN price!!
Eh? Why bother having a BestOffer if you're not going to accept an offer?
Very strange? Are the listings cheaper if you do a BO???
Theyre called "Idiots that want something for nothing"....
Some people wouldnt notice that the counter offer were the same as the BIN.
same thing happened to me the other day for some second hand headphones, i made an offer based on recently finished items which was close to the BIN,
definitely reasonable, and they came back with the BIN.
it was near the start of the auction though so clearly assuming im desperate for them but trying my luck.
I wouldnt put a BO on if I wanted to push for a fixed price though.
Listings aren't cheaper with a best offer but it may be that if your buying a few (it will show the quantity available next to the price) they may accept a lower offer, i.e. 100% price for one 95% price eah for five, and 90% price for ten etc.
Aha- good idea re the bulk discount thingy..... Couldn't work out why otherwise!!
Its not uncommon for some sellers to do that, but then again, having best offer available (even if you don't accept lower offers) also makes the listing more apealling to the majority or consumers - think tag syndrome!
I use BIN with offers and it's amazing how many people just plump for the BIN price rather than trying an offer.
On the other hand there are people who just offer silly prices. ie £20 when the BIN is £50, like I'm going to accept that - not
