I was near Hever Castle to day and popped into a pub for some lunch. Whilst there a chap pulled into the pub car park on a classic bike wearing what
looked like a flat cap for a helmet. It looked fantastic so I got chatting to him and asked him how he gets away with wearing a flat cap. He says
that it is legal, takes it off and shows me a BS code on the label. It was quite mad. Anyway, I can't remember the name of the thing and I
would desperately like one. Anybody any idea what it might be called?
Cheers
Steve
Sounds to me like a "housewife kit" and a BS Label......
Do mean one of these?

Any good?
Anything like the ones on this page?

For example:
or

Aaah! They have gotta be the ones
They don't mention what BS they meet
They're 'antiques' - I think they first appeared in the 60's.
No way are they up to modern standards!
Thanks for that. It was exactly what I was looking for. I know that they are not true safety wear but I wouldn't be planning on using it regularly, just odd outing on a summers afternoon.
IMO you don't buy a motorcycle helmet to look cool but to keep your brains inside your skull. each to their own I guess.

every year and how many due to head injuries ...... i guess most won't be doing the speeds super bikes can do as they are on 2 wheel tractors
