Anyone had any experience installing aftermarket Air con and cruise control to vehicles which weren't previously equiped?

I installed aftermarket cruise control on my sisters T4 transporter.... was just a case of replacing the indicator stalk, plugging it into the loom and enabling CC in the engine amangement system....

when i worked at a vauxhall dealers, i had to install a number of air con systems. We always used Daivia kits. These were both very comprehensive and fairly easy to install.
Some had complete new heater boxes, and others had openings to cut to insert the evaporators etc. I seem to think the kits were in the 6 to 900 pound region at the time, so may have increased a bit since then.

I have seen a bargain on a Merc Vito van and was wondering what my options were to add "nice to haves"
