OBD Fault codes-Volvo
liam.mccaffrey - 5/10/09 at 08:08 PM

After thinking all was well with the v70

I have the following fault codes

P0650 Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Control Circuit Malfunction
P0722 Output Speed Sensor No Signal
P1618 SBDS Interactive Codes

I am informed that the second 2 are the symptom of a dodgy trans output speed sensor and fairly easy to fix.

I have a feeling that there is no bulb behind the warning light!!

I'm never buying a car, even a banger without taking the fault code reader again.

This may help. Or not...

my mum's car brings up every fault you can think of. including 'cruise control brake circuit malfunction'
it hasn't got cruise control.
not sure how much i trust it (the fault codes that is. well, and the car too...)

Maybe it's better if everything appears to work to just not use the fault code reader at all.

My chum had the Vauxhaul dealer searching for many (costly) hours tracing OBD faults on his Vectra. A new battery sorted it! Every time the voltage spiked undert a certain value, it would ping-up faults!
