I had a Mazda 6 2.0 diesel TS2 for a while. Fairly non-descript on the outside but handled well and had all the toys. Overall it was a good package

Good in most cases and generally underrated. I'm running a 323f sport and it goes well, reliable, and tows OK. Interior isn't dog proof but thats another story.

Not as good as a Honda and less boring than a Toyota.

Ive got a 2.0 diesel MPV pulls like a train and goes like stink, it uses a bit of oil though it has from new and reading most Mazda forums it seems like a common problem. Build quality is excellent.
Never had a scrap of trouble with it neither have 2 of my mates who have 6's one of which wouldnt buy anything other than a Mazda, in saying that thats put the kiss of death on it.
Cheers,
Bob

As a rule Mazdas very good and hold good residual values even at very high mileages ---- I have noticed they tend to get snapped up very quickly by the trade when sold at auction.

Downside is with each new model the Ford content has increased --- or more likely the Mazda design contribution to Fords has increased.

I had a Mazda 6 2.0D TS2 estate and it was one of the best cars I have ever owned. Mine was a '53 plate so it was starting to show it's age, but a newer one would probably be a bit more 'refined'.

The only problems I ever had with it was that it ate clutches (about 1 every 45000 miles) which can be a common issue with this package, and the gearbox was starting to jump out of 5th after 85000 miles. This is probably due to the way I drove it as I don't hang around much! Go for the TS2 if at all possible as the extra toys are worth it. Certainly climate, traction and a Bose stereo were all good for me.
