An autumnal musing....
For next year (2010), we're all one big happy family of sprinting 'Specialist Cars' whether on the road, or not. The SR's will be
able to change the details (engine sizes and whatever), but no grey area comes into view anymore about what a 'Kit Car' car constitutes. As
I understand it, only 20 cars/year (any year?) have to be produced and thats it all settled. Lovely, smell the flowers.
OK, so I'm thinking about the things that some fellow competitors this year have complained about to the Officials in their attempts (I assume)
to get me off the circuit. Some (I'm sure) will remain grey, reverse gearboxes, engine fitments, tyres, seats, yadda yadda. However, before all
that starts again in 2010....
What do you believe the '20 a year' ruling means. Let's say that I'm looking seriously at a R1oT for 2010, and I'm going to
run that R1oT on slicks (Modified Specialist Cars). 2nd Hand, there are two/three that I've either seen, or intend to soon (very). An unfinished
GSXR1000 powered one, a very finished ZZR1200 device along with an engineless (was a Civic) vehicle.
What do you guys think - I doubt very much if Jeremy has ever churned out 20 a year, I doubt even more if customers have built 20 of each car with a
particular engine (does *that matter*). Let's say that I arrive at the paddock in 2010 with a ZZR1200 R1oT, what do you think my chances are of
having any trouble with Officialdom in the event of complaints, what's *your* interpretation.
It's just that I've achieved a probable sale of my Westfield, I'd love to try a R1oT... but you can see the decision I've going to
have to make...
if you go riot there is also this one. And i think Andy is just about to bolt a zzr1200 into it before he sells it.

Talk to JP - he may have produced more than you may thing...
The Spectre may already be on the way to that many. I know of at least 4/5 in build...
Speak to procomp - they've either done some work on the riot handling / corner weighing or know someone who runs one and has.
May be able to give you a leg up setting the car up / help with the build decisions.

Cheers MK9R,
Yep, that's the car that I haven't got to look at yet, probably because I'll have a head and heart confrontation - best avoided until
the Westfield (is) out of the garage.

Battle scars are good, in an image -obsessed society, it makes for a good haggling point. It's hilarious sometimes, you see a bike advertised,
descriptions of a tank scratch in detail, but silence should you ask about the condition of anything that really 'matters'.
Needless to say, my Westfield has taken the ASWMC sprint title 3 years running, it's a bit 'scarred' too, also scared!
