richardh - 15/10/09 at 09:13 AM

definately a real problem

woodster - 15/10/09 at 09:17 AM

i was shocked to see the list of places the government think theres a problem and that in Leicester the whites are a minority

Irony - 15/10/09 at 09:42 AM

Having grown up in leicester and am now living in Lincoln (both are mentioned) I would say it is a very real problem! Not just in the jobs market either. I know of several pubs that you just 'don't' go in if your not of the right ethnic minority.

I was also on a bus the other night in islington when a group of lads got on and annouced they were the Romainian Mafia and everyone on the bus should lower there eyes.

Yes I would say its a very real problem.

Peteff - 15/10/09 at 10:13 AM

We were recently talking to a white woman from Bradford whose child had been allocated a school which is 97% Pakistani Muslim and in the bottom 3% on the performance list. He has now been reallocated to a school 8 miles away which she is happy to accommodate. Why has the situation been allowed to get to this stage is what should be the question.

theconrodkid - 15/10/09 at 10:20 AM

course it,s real (unless you live on another planet like a lot of politico,s) and the only reason they are supposedly doing something now is the looming election,in which they will get slaughtered.
they are running scared of the likes of the BNP,Joe average has had enough and will be voting for them, even some of the "ethnics"(Indian/west Indian) long term residents of this country i speak to have had enough

scootz - 15/10/09 at 10:45 AM

A very real problem... don't know if anyone else on here watches Pat Condell's YouTube uploads - how he's still alive I'll never know, but he speaks a lot of sense and his tongue-in-cheek humour at least lightens the subject matter.

Black, white, brown, yellow, christian, muslim, jewish, buddhist, sikh, atheist, whatever... you're born and bred or you've just arrived... who cares... your first priority should be to accept you're now BRITISH! You obey the laws of the land, you support your fellow citizens and you treat each other with respect - you don't like it? THEN **** OFF!

02GF74 - 15/10/09 at 11:10 AM

scootz - not sure if I am misunderstanding or you .... but it appears that this money £ 12 M, whcih BTW they might as well flush down the pan for all the good it will do, is being allocated to white British folk.

these are the folks that are undeducated and unskilled and resent the fact that some foreign born national is working in low paid job for money that they won't work for and rather claiim benefit.

the job is there as seomeon is doing it but they won'tfor the money so in their eyes, the foreigners are stealing the jobs.

£ 12 M isn't going to change any of that.

I'm just having a general rant about 'Broken Britain' - yes, I agree entirely that it's a waste of money!

If only. It will be allocated to educational programms to try to get them to stop whinging about the deal they get.

A1 - 15/10/09 at 03:14 PM

there is a problem...im not sure its the white folk getting pissed off at the likes of the aforementioned romanians.
its not bad up here, but its getting worse.

its basically 12m to stop us having freedom of speech.

Andi - 15/10/09 at 11:28 PM

There is only one enemy group.
The owners of the country (whoever they are)
The faceless mega business men across all political structures.
The ones who sold out our factories, jobs and lives to 3rd world countries who manufacture at budget cost for maximum profit.
Then let their minions fight it out.
Its not you, I, Ali or Afghani.
Is it?

All about dosh n power folk

Here here! This "stealing our jobs" thing has been running through the terminally unemployed for what 40 years? I resent paying taxes to keep them in beer

hmm, if only it was as easy as that.

joe public must sharethe blame too - we, myself include want to go to the shops/internet and buy stuff as cheaply as possible.

would you pay £ 1,000 for an UK manufacturered Audiolab amp or £ 500 for the same but made by 6 year old chinese orphans?

Rover has gone but how many of us had bought a Rover? I hadn;t but did get close on a 220 trubo

Bottom line is about getting the public to buy and price is one of the most important criteria.

I don't like the outsourcing of jobs to the third world but what can I do?

Ninehigh - 17/10/09 at 10:47 AM

Yeah reminds me of when Primark got in trouble for using sweat shops to make cheap clothes, one woman interviewed said (cue stereotypical dumb essex accent) I don't care I just want cheap clothes

Go to school? The charities in Ethiopia are gunning that angle "Ntobl walks 40 miles a day for some water, your £2 a month means he could have a well in his town, and books for the school we'll build"

wilkingj - 17/10/09 at 02:02 PM

The WHOLE problem is very simple. There are just TOO MANY PEOPLE in the world.
In the last 40 years the population has gone from 4Bn to 6Bn people.
That is putting a strain on ALL resources, jobs, food, water, oils, etc etc etc.

People have it hard in what ever country they live in, and we ALL percieve that the Grass is Greener somewhere else. Now in some cases, IT IS Greener. Especially if you a Romanian, or Polish, or Tibetan, or whatever place you come from (no particular contries selected there just ramdom ones chosen).
Life in the UK, is often a LOT better than in some countries, hence they try to migrate here (legally or otherwise).

There is NO EASY answer to the problems of the country OR the World.
If the solution was that easy, the current Gov't would implement it, and solve the problem. Everyone would Cheer, and re-elect them in for another term. ANY Party would do that as it would ensure their stay in power (and their wages / income)

It isnt that easy or they would do it straight away.
NONE of the political parties have the answer.

I believe it will eventually lead to a massive war, thus reducing the population again to manageable numbers.
That is EXACTLTY what happens in nature with animals and territories / hunting grounds etc.

The population explosion is a REAL problem.
The Chinese are one of the few countries who recognise this problem, and are trying to do something about it. However that has led to all sorts of other problems, like killing off baby girls, leading to an imballance of the sexes 20 years on etc etc.
As I said.... there is NO easy answer.
You CANT please ALL the People ALL the Time.
Simples <chk>

in a nutshell there geoff.

gazza285 - 17/10/09 at 02:59 PM

What we need is a nice plague, to which all the people dear to me are immune, as well as the Guinness brewers and associated trades, the undertakers, and the chef from my local curry house.

Ninehigh - 17/10/09 at 03:07 PM

Give me a sniper rifle, I'll thin the population!

JoelP - 17/10/09 at 03:44 PM

part of our problem is that we all want to live forever, its going to get much worse in future as medicine keeps us alive longer. Serious birth control is needed.
