Reasonable Police!

Well, just been out in my TVR Cerbera for a bit of a run and whilst joining the A3 (from the slip road) I may have been going slightly over the NSL (possibly!). Anyway left at the next junction and next to me a marked car beeped his horn, so I would down the window to which he said ' If you are going to go over the NSL then check what is next to you!'. So I made my apologies and they gave a friendly wave and that was that........

Anyway, reckon the car may well have had something to do with it!

i've just took the a mate home who lives about 1 mile away, in the space of 1/2 a mile when turning onto the main road i saw a marked BMW 3 series sat at the traffic lights watching cars go by, literally 100 yards down the road a marked astra and at the next island another parked astra, you would have thought they would have better things to do, possibly watching for speeding cars as a lot of people do 40 on that stretch of road but it is actually a 30!

The Astra would be in contact with the BMW and would be picking all the people up that though - excellent just passed the traffic car and speed up .......

Yeah, I think I got caught the other day. TBH if I wasn't it would be a miracle.

I was driving along doing 40, saw the marked car with his window down and carried on at a steady 40 (DC, wide, central reservation and houses set back from the road). It was only later I had doubts so went back and checked and the roads a bleedin 30. Pretty sure he was sitting there with a 20-20 in his hand. Doh.
I'm sure it used to be a 40 and all the traffic does 40 on it.

TBH, I've found that 'unreasonable' cops are very much in the minority... thankfully! Just like in any job and society at large - arseholes exist!

the 'next to you' bit is probably what saved you they know you were going too fast, but probably wouldn't have been able to prove anything.

still, nice that they just gave you some friendly advice and sent you on your way they could easily have pulled you to waste your time, but they sound like good lads

I got stopped once on my bike doing ***mph on back roads... the traffic guy's first comment was, "you should be ashamed" - I thought I was in soapy-bubble, then he burst into a smile and said, "well I'd be ashamed if it was me who was riding THAT (R1) and got caught by HIM (colleague still sat in car) driving THAT (Volvo T5!)". He then had an enthusiastic nosey at my bike, told me to stay safe, and buggered off!
