What is involved in getting trailler entitlement? Its not something I'm desperate for but it would be usefull in the future. Do you have to take another full test with a trailler hitched up or do you take a different test?
Its a different test.
- Ive not done one, but it seams most take the format of two days lessons with a test at the end of the second day. Reversing round cones, trailer
safety, checks, etc. I think.
Circa £500 seams common.

You can still tow a trailer up to 750kgs unbraked or a braked trailer/tow car combination of 3500kgs on your standard licence (the newer photocard
licences included).
The trailer licence is only required for towing combinations in excess of this so you can decide if you actually need the additional towing licence.
i enquired about this the other week. I got told its £45 for an assessment, £150 for each days tuition, and £120 for the test at the end. One key thing is that the courses are run by private companies, unlike your normal driving test run by DSA. Hence, i think it will be much easier to pass.
Thanks for the replies, I knew about the 750K but had no idea I could have a combined weight of 3500 if it was braked.

Do you have to use your own vehicle and trailer?
